Ios
Ios also known as Nios locally is located due north of Santorini. This mountainous island has cliffs dropping right down to the azure blue Aegean Sea. The landscape is littered with numerous chapels, olive trees, and vineyards and it is blessed with small attractive coves and beautiful white sandy beaches that are perfect for yachts to visit. The history of this island goes back to prehistoric times. Above the pretty harbor where fishing boats and yachts are anchored side-by-side, stands the capital of Ios. The town stands on the site of the ancient city of the same name and is a typical Cyclonic settlement with white washed houses, narrow alleys and streets and numerous chapels built on the hillside. Ios is a very popular tourist destination that offers a good choice of local bars and tavernas.
From Ios you can sail north east to Milos.
